One month left.
Only one more month to prepare.
I am not ready. No way, shape or form. And if I am being completely honest, the last month has been hit or miss with my running. I did complete a few really long runs, my longest yet. A 31 km run and I did 35 km in one day broken up into 2 runs. Other than that my runs have been few and far between. I lost the mojo. My body has felt stiff and sore. My brain would rather watch reruns of Greys Anatomy in bed. Its not wonder only a small percentage of people tackle the full marathon. It is a battle.
So I have a few weeks left to get my body ready. My plan – lots of short runs … and by short I mean 12-15km runs 6 days a week for the next 2 weeks and then drop that down to 4-5 days a week for the two weeks before the run.
A 15 km run seems a lot less daunting than a 28 km run and I hope at this point the work I have done for the last 6 months will carry me through.
I can’t figure out why I stopped running. I wanted to … I wanted to want it. I am feeling a little bit of disappointment in myself, questioning myself, “Why didn’t I just power through, I was so close?” Anyways, it is was it is, so now I just need to make the most of the time I have left.
Todays goal – 14km.
After a snow storm on Sunday afternoon, the sun is back out today so after work, I will hit the pavement.
Until next time ..
